BIO
Solars are an instrumental, Post-Rock, Post-Metal band from Birmingham, UK. First forming in 2016 after the demise of 2 previous bands, Solars came together to make exclusively instrumental music. After seeing bands at festivals such as ArcTanGent with favourites being bands such as Maybeshewill, Russian Circles, 65daysofstatic, Bossk as well as many others, Solars attempted to write heavy, riff based instrumental music, with a sense of melody. After performing one show, Solars became a 4 piece.
Piecing together their first EP release in early 2017, Solars have since gone on to release 3 EPs; A Million Invisible People (2017), Vimana (2019) and Negative Apex (2021), as well as 9 singles in between. With an upcoming debut album due for release in August 2024, whilst this may be their first full album, Solars are no strangers to creating and releasing music.
Keen to be a part of the Post-Rock/Post-Metal scene, Solars have supported bands such as InMe, Raging Speedhorn, The Physics House Band, Poly-Math, Coldbones, The Stranglers, God Alone, Hundred Year Old Man, Pijn, Hidden Mothers, Copse as well as many many others. They’ve toured various cities in the UK including completing 2 small tours in 2023 taking Solars to cities they’d not visited before such as Southampton, Bristol as well as regular others such as London.
Solars long term goals include performing at ArcTanGent Festival as well as continuing on their upward trajectory, performing shows up and down the country. As their debut album, ‘A Fading Future’ is prepared for release, Solars are ready to take on the next step.
